Tirthan Valley

One such hidden beauty of Himachal Pradesh is the Tirthan Valley, located in Kullu district. With a distance of almost 98kms from Manali and 205kms from Shimla, one can reach easily by car or bus from different locations to Tirthan Valley. The valley is known for its surreal picturesque views of valleys, Tirthan river flowing at her own pace along the foot of the mountains, and trekking. Tirthan Valley is the starting of the GREAT HIMALAYAN NATIONAL PARK trek. Our homestay USHA GUEST HOUSE was located in a beautiful position. The two stored wooden houses were the perfect nest to stay for the next two days. Behind our guest house, dense forests climbed high, and just below, the fierce Tirthan river gushes through the valley. We were welcomed with fresh fruit juices and Himachali cap. It was the warmest welcome gesture. The staff was very helpful and polite.
After freshening up, we went down to the river. The water was chilling cold and Crystal clear. It originates from the HANSKUND GLACIER. The Tirthan River is famous for trout fishes and we knew the next Moment our lunch menu for the next day. An interesting thing that I noticed in the cottage rooms was that it was coated heavily with mud, it was done in that way to avoid the gushing sound of the river to enter the rooms and it helped us having peaceful sleep.
The next morning we woke up early and saw the most mesmerizing sunrise. The sunrays falling and sparkling the water. A small walk through the orange and apple orchards made our morning more beautiful.
We decided to go trekking till CHHOIE WATERFALL. It was almost an hour trek through narrow mountain trails. The waterfall and the trekking route was so astonishing that our tiredness was all gone. CHOICE WATERFALL holds it's a most beautiful sight during rainy days. We dipped our feet in waterfall water and it was so chilling cold, one can't literally feel your foot. You can sit there for hours and enjoy the endless beauty of nature, the chirping of birds, and the Alpine grooves. Breathing in such fresh air will refresh your life. In the afternoon we had the tastiest trout fries. The evening was spent sitting around a campfire by singing and dancing and making endless memories.
To spend a few days or the weekend away from the city chaos, one can easily escape to Tirthan Valley to breathe in the fresh air.
