A day in the hills of Kasauli

Image
The pandemic has taken a heavy toll on the world of traveling. The situation was considerably good in the last few months of 2020 and the first two months of 2021 until COVID came with its second wave. In March 2021 I had to visit Chandigarh for my University purpose. I was there for 2 days only but I made the best of those 2 days by visiting one of the nearest hill stations to the capital city, Kasauli.  How we reached Kasauli- Kasauli is 53kms from Chandigarh and it takes around 2 hours by car. We booked an Uber intercity and negotiated that he will bring us back to Chandigarh too. We started our journey around 11 am. The journey will continue through Chandigarh-Kalka road to Dharampur where you have to take a left turn. This road is comparatively stiff but the scenic view of the mountain range and the cool breeze will make your journey memorable. It will take around 20-25 minutes to reach Kasauli from there.  Places to visit at Kasauli- Kasauli is a small hill station nestled

A WEEKEND IN BATHINDA

Its been a very long gap between my last blog and this one. Currently, I stay in Punjab for my degree purpose. Quarantine due to covid19 got me back to writing another blog about a weekend I spend in Bhatinda with my sister. So let me jot down how I spend my weekend. I had booked a Volvo from Chandigarh to Bhatinda, and it took me around 5 hours to reach Bhatinda around 8:30pm. My stay for the next 2 days was in the guest house of the Central University Of Punjab, as my sister is currently a student there. The university was not located centrally in the main city but some 20mins away in the Mansa road. The campus was full of weekend vibes with students sprawling all over. After my dinner at the hostel mess and a few gossip session later I retired to bed.  The next morning I had plans to go around the city to see a few places. I didn't have enough time to visit every place but I managed to see the following places- 1. Bathinda Lake- The first destination I ticked off from my li

Tirthan Valley

One  such hidden beauty of Himachal Pradesh is the Tirthan Valley, lo cated in Kullu district. With a distance of almost 98kms from Manali and  205kms from Shimla, one can reach easily by car or bus from different locations to Tirthan Valley. The valley is known for its surreal picturesque views of valleys , Tirthan river flowing at her own pace along the foot of the mountains, and trekking. Tirthan Valley is the starting of the GREAT HIMALAYAN NATIONAL PARK trek. Our homestay USHA GUEST HOUSE was located in a beautiful position. The two stored wooden houses were the perfect nest to stay for the next two days. Behind our guest house, dense forests climbed high, and just below, the fierce Tirthan river gushes through the valley. We were welcomed with fresh fruit juices and Himachali cap. It was the warmest welcome gesture. The staff was very helpful and polite. After freshening up, we went down to the river. The water was chilling cold and Crystal clear. It originates from the HANSKUND
